We are delighted to be able to invite you to our Open Evening for current Year 6 students. As you may know, we are part of the Outwood Grange Family of Schools, and officially opened in September 2019, replacing the former Hillsview Academy. We are pleased that over the last two years, the school has become very popular, with record numbers of first choice applications, leading to us being immediately overscribed in Y7 each year. Our Principal, Mr Wappat is an experienced headteacher within our Trust.
Our goal is simple, we believe that:
“The whole point of schools is that children come first and everything we do must reflect this single goal. Students First: Raising Standards and Transforming Lives”
This vision helps us to ensure that Outwood Normanby is committed to providing an excellent education that aims to allow all our students to achieve their potential. We have demonstrated this on Teesside many times in our schools. Mr Wappat was Associate Principal of our first school in the region, Outwood Acklam, before becoming Principal of Outwood Bydales in 2014. When Outwood took on the school it was in special measures. He led it to an outstanding Ofsted judgement within three years, and in the same year it was named the highest performing school in the North East of England for student GCSE progress and attainment. We are determined to repeat the success story for young people and their parents in our relatively new school here too at Normanby. Students learn in a studious, hard-working yet warm and friendly community. We are particularly proud of how polite, helpful and supportive students are of each other, in and out of lessons, and how hard they work on key workplace skills such as resilience, confidence, commitment and teamwork.
Year 6 Open Evening - Thursday 30 September 6-8pm
We do hope that you will want to join us at our Year 6 Open Evening. It will give you the opportunity to see the school for yourself, meet our committed staff and find out more about the school and the Outwood Family of Schools. The evening begins promptly at 6.00 pm in the Main Hall with a short presentation by Mr Wappat. We will then provide the chance for you and your child to tour the school, meet students, our leadership team, subject and support staff, and find out how our provision and learning environment will ensure your child makes excellent progress here.
