Year 11 GCSE Results Day - Thursday 12 August 2021

We trust that you and your family are enjoying the current good weather, and hopefully getting quality time together, be it locally or further afield.

Our Class of 2021 certainly rose to the challenge of a second year of disruption to their GCSE and vocational qualifications, including another lockdown, remote ‘live’ lessons and a good deal of time spent working hard to complete evidence and assessments towards the Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs). It was fantastic to see everyone together again for the Leavers’ Breakfast/Celebration event on the 18 June, and hopefully the photographs have provided some lasting memories for a superb group of young people, who have proven fun, kind, hard-working, friendly, resilient, confident and determined. We look forward to seeing the difference they will make as their journeys continue into the future.

GCSE Results Day Arrangements

Results Day will be on Thursday 12 August, and results can be collected from the school at any time between 10.00am and noon. As I write COVID restrictions will have been lifted by then, but we do encourage all students and parents to adhere to social distancing on this day and masks can be worn if you prefer to do so, particularly given the high number of cases in Redcar & Cleveland currently.

Students should enter the auditorium via the door adjacent to Reception. There will be tables arranged by surname to allow students to collect their results and then go back outside promptly. We encourage students to arrange with friends to come to school with each other at a pre-determined time, and suggest this is within the two hour window, rather than right at the start. We ask that everyone remains outdoors as much as possible. If the weather is fine, we will likely have the results tables outside anyway.

Please note that if results are being collected by someone else, then prior written permission from the student must be given, indicating the name of the person collecting results.

We are delighted that the vast majority of our Year 11 students have plans for their Post-16 study.  If further guidance is needed please do not hesitate to contact c.gibson@normanby.outwood.com and we will happily arrange a remote careers appointment.

We look forward to seeing you next Thursday.
