Covid-19 home testing for students

Mon 08 Mar 2021
Thank you for your support with the Covid-19 testing programme at the academy. We have now completed testing for students on site, and all those students who registered have been offered three Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs). You will have received notification of your child’s results by text and email from NHS Test and Trace.

Following Department for Education guidance, we are now able to provide home testing kits for students who have consent for testing. These will be distributed to students from Tuesday 16 March.

It is recommended that students test themselves twice per week, with three to five days between each test - for example Sunday and Wednesday.

Results of each test must be registered with NHS Test and Trace via this website: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result or by calling 119.

Test results must also be shared with school by completing this form: https://forms.gle/hYKQh9GCMBTeVJRq6

If the result of a home LFT test comes back as positive you must book a PCR test via the NHS website or by ringing 119.

Please be aware that Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) are for those who are NOT showing symptoms of covid, so who may be asymptomatic. Please DO NOT send your child into school if they or and members of the household are showing any signs of Covid-19. The household must self-isolate and book a test by ringing 119.

If you have not previously consented to testing, but would still like your child to be tested at home, please access rapid testing from a local NHS test site.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
