Associate Assistant Principal
Lisa qualified in 2004 after gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Fashion and Textiles at Liverpool John Moores University and then completing her PGCE at the University of Sunderland. She gained employment at her teaching practice school, Eston Park, where she worked for ten years before it merged with Gillbrook and became Hillsview Academy. During her early years of teaching Lisa also gained a Masters degree in advanced Professional Practise with the University of Sunderland.
During her time at Eston Park and Hillsview Academies Lisa took on several different roles which gave her a valuable insight into a range of educational aspects. Some of these roles included KS2 Coordinator, Second in House, Inclusion Coordinator and for the last five years, Head of the Technology Department. Lisa has also been an integral part of the coaching programme which allowed her to focus on her own teaching pedagogy whilst also providing professional development and support for other teachers in the school.
Lisa has recently joined the Senior Leadership Team as an Associate Assistant Principal in Deep Learning, responsible for literacy and reading. She has a passion for teaching and strives for the best from herself, colleagues and students, always taking a positive stance, with the aim of encouraging a love of learning and allowing students to believe in themselves.
