Learning Environment

Outwood Academy Normanby opened in September 2019, with Outwood Grange Academies Trust taking over the leadership and running of the former Hillsview Academy.

The Academy continues to grow, building on the successful development models that Outwood brings, coupled with a team of dedicated staff with the aim of always putting Students First.

The building was constructed in 2006 as part of the Modern Schools Project working with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council to provide modern school buildings. The premises and catering provision is delivered by Robertson Facilities Management.

We aim to provide a calm, purposeful learning environment where students and staff are able to focus on teaching and learning. The building has undergone a variety of changes since September 2019 including re-decorating, new flooring in science labs and corridors, ground floor toilet refurbishment, new fencing to the rear of the school and a bold change to the colour of the render of the main school building.

Work continues to develop the range of informative displays and signage around school, providing an attractive visual with key information for students across a range of subject.
