This page has been left as an archived source of the guidance given to students and parents during our extended school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic from March 2020 until that summer. Each week we uploaded student work to their individual classes within Google Classroom, encouraged them to complete and hand-in, and then gave feedback. New work was uploaded each week. It was critical that students had a routine where they continue to access their learning during closure of course. Thank you to parents for their support during those times, and moving into the full reopening in the Autumn.
This fantastic book was donated to the school by Richard, an inspirational speaker and Yorkshireman who recently spoke to Y11. It will be released in four parts, starting with w/c Monday 23 March 2020, marking the first week of our closure in unprecedented times. We are challenging every student to give the book a listen!
In the first instance, we have provided an A5 ‘Three Week Study Log’ booklet to go alongside students’ online study using Google Classroom, but also to help keep in a sensible routine in these difficult, and unprecedented times ahead. Each day, students can record learning, activities and chill time to keep a healthy balance. There is space too, to keep track of sensible sleep patterns and regular, healthy meals too! The booklet was issued to all students during the last two days before closure, and posted home to children who were not in for those days. A copy can be downloaded below, to print and use at home when the paper version is complete.
Teachers from across our Outwood Grange Family of Schools have been working on some fun activities for students and our families that don’t involve a screen! Ideal for some down time over the Easter holidays and beyond. Do have a look, load of ideas, here: activities.homelearning.outwood.com/
